Editorial Review:
Product Description: Dirty Harry returns to the streets when he discovers his name on a list of celebrities targeted for murder.
Amazon.com: After the drudgery of Sudden Impact, the fourth and worst sequel to Dirty Harry, no one could have expected the fifth to have any signs of life. But The Dead Pool is fairly inspired, even playful--check out a "chase" scene between Clint Eastwood's Harry Callahan character and a remote-controlled toy car wielding a bomb--and it ended the long-running series on an unexpectedly positive note. This time, Callahan investigates a series of murders that appears to be on a "death list," while becoming romantically involved with a television reporter (Patricia Clarkson). Jim Carrey has a small but memorable part as a doped-up rock star, and Liam Neeson is on board, too. Directed by Eastwood surrogate Buddy Van Horn (Any Which Way You Can). --Tom Keogh

I enjoy all the Dirty Harry series. Clint Eastwood at that time was one of the best actors to play the part of Inspector Harry Callahan.
To bad we don't have more real cops with that attitude.

The consensus on this one is pretty much the same for me,yes it's not my favorite dirty harry movie,as there can only be one dirty harry movie. But were talking about milking it for what it's worth,It's still Clint Eastwood and certainly isn't Pink Cadillac. The last and least of Dirty Harry Films but not Horrifying.

This is the fifth and last "Dirty Harry" movie. The studio should have stopped at the fourth as they were ahead of the game.
Overall "The Dead Pool" was laughable - a spoof on the "Dirty Harry" Brand. The plot revolves around "The Dead Pool" - a typed up list of celebrities and bets on their death. This is a "Death List" for celebrity murder victims. Harry Calahan is now a celebrity from all his past arrests and finds his name on the list. From the start, Harry (Clint ... Read More

After 1983's "Sudden Impact" my favorite of the 5 films with Clint directing I guess Warner Brothers just wanted a film to make money no matter what.
My least favorite of the films.
Clint no problem, in normal, fine form as Harry. Another shoot out in a restaurant robbery, I think they got that idea from what 1983 film? Poor script decision, stealing an idea from the previous film.
The shortest of the 5 films as well.
Good to see Liam in 1 of his ... Read More

By the time this film came out, in 1988, you might have grown tired of the genre, based upon the fourth film, "Sudden Impact", which lost some of the same "edge", that made the other films, of the series, stand out. Although, "The Dead Pool", manages to pull it off, in a big way, by incorporating, an interesting plot, with some good characters and a well executed film. Jim Carrey plays a heroin addicted rock star, and Liam Neeson, plays a filmmaker. Also, included is Guns N Roses, Welcome to the Jungle, ... Read More
